About 'art design portfolio'|Advice on surviving the AP Studio Art portfolio
With the economy going bust, it is difficult, if near impossible, for artists to sell their work. However, there are a few online sites that give budding artists an opportunity to sell their traditional and digital art for free online. Some sites offer premium memberships for a fee, but all of these sites offer free services for the budding or experienced artist. Deviant Art Deviant Art is one of the largest online artist communities in the world. After signing up for a free membership, artists on Deviant art have access to many great artist features. Each artist has a free professional online digital portfolio which allows you options to upload a resume' or curriculum vitae, photos, links to your art and web sites, and an online gallery space separated into different galleries. Your Deviant Art page is where you can post your best art, your favorite art from other artists, a journal entry page, and other content. You also have a gallery which links to products, such as canvas art prints and mouse pads, featuring your digital art. You make a small amount back on the sale of your art and can add options like adding a Creative Commons license or a digital watermark to protect your work. Lulu.com Lulu is a self-publishing website for the written word. There is also the option of selling photography books, art books, and poetry books, which are great outlets for any artist or poet. You set your commission rate yourself and upload the photos and text files. Lulu has a handy online book wizard that is very helpful in making sure that your art is up to the correct resolution. Recently, Lulu has begun to offer its publishing services for free. You add an ISBN# to your book, and Lulu will send it to online retailers like Amazon.com. The ISBN# is also required for any book that is purchased by the library system. There are some book restrictions and guidelines regarding which type of book is eligible for professional publishing. The only monetary requirement is that you purchase one copy of your book as a draft to proofread (at the discounted rate). Zazzle.com Zazzle allows artists to upload images and apply these images to a dizzyingly high rate of different types of products. You can place your digital art image on everything from clothing and sneakers to skateboards and coffee mugs. Digital prints are also available. You can even create postage that has your art featured on it. Many artists have had a lot of success through Zazzle, especially those dealing in graphic design and pop art. |
